Save Big Bucks on Your Beach Wedding Accessories

Finding bargain beach wedding accessories

Beach wedding accessories are a great addition to a beach wedding, or to a beach themed wedding - and beach wedding accessories may be as close as your nearest beach. In other words, they don't necessarily need to cost you an arm and a leg!

BEACH WEDDING ACCESSORIES FOR EVERYONE

It's great fun to plan a beach wedding, and one of the most fun parts of it is to gather your beach wedding accessories.

I say 'gather' on purpose, because, in this case, that may be exactly what you're doing! One of the best ways to save big bucks on your beach wedding accessories is to spend an afternoon (with your fiance, if you want to make it romantic!) wandering on a beach and finding them!

Look for tiny shells, sand dollars and sea glass to decorate your tables with, for starters; you might also find tiny starfish that have been dried by the sun. Your cost for these beach wedding accessories? An afternoon at the beach!

If you have a small budget, here's some other beach wedding accessories to think about:

1. Go to your local dollar store, or inexpensive craft store, and buy some small clear bottles, either with a screw-on lid or a cork stopper, and some sheets of plastic paper. Fill the bottles nearly full with water. Write your names and the wedding date on squares of the plastic with a water-proof felt pen, roll it up, and put it in the bottle - voila! You have 'message in a bottle' wedding favors to give your guests. (And if you'd rather not use water, you can put confetti or shredded mylar foil in, instead).

2. Use tan colored table-cloths instead of white, and sprinkle some real sand here and there in the middle of the table. You could add bunched up bits of light green or turquoise blue tulle, with the sea shells or beach glass scattered on it at random.

3. Miniature brass ornaments, such as anchors, ships bells or mermaids, make great wedding favors or place-card holders. Look for 'fake' brass to save even more money!

4. Use the real sounds around you to your advantage - having the waves crashing on the shore, sea birds chirping, or foghorns are wonderful natural backdrops during your ceremony and/or reception - you may not need any expensive music providers! If you do want some real background music, ask among friends and family to see if anyone has one of those 'Ocean Moments' meditative tapes that you could borrow for the day.

5. Shell-shaped soaps, candies or toy boats are generally available at wholesale shops or at your local dollar store. You can wrap them in some tulle, or even place them on a seashell (and then wrap with plastic wrap) to decorate tables, or to give away as favors.
